Backlight Productions’ music and songwriting classes give artists with IDD the opportunity to explore self-expression in a whole new way.

These classes focus on building musical skills while encouraging artists to find and share their unique voice. From learning the fundamentals of music to writing original songs, students grow their confidence and creativity.

Throughout the year, artists have opportunities to showcase their work by sharing and recording their original songs.

Over the past years, our students have collaborated and co-written songs with Nashville writers such as Landon Pigg, Chase Akers, and Ming Aldrich-Gan.
