Kids Summer Camp – Beauty and the Beast

Come and join us for an enchanting week as we learn songs and scenes from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast! Students will spend the week learning materials from the show for a final showcase put on for family and friends. In addition to the rehearsing, students will take lessons to enhance their skills in acting, singing and dancing as we tell this “Tale as Old as Time”.

  • June 23-27 9:30am-12:30pm
  • Cost=$250 (+ non-refundable $25 registration fee)
    • Backlight Kids Camps are for kids ages 8-17. Camps are open to kids of all abilities but are catered to be both accommodating and fully inclusive, giving every participant equal opportunity. Campers who require direct support must provide a support person 18 or over.
    • CLASS DIFFICULTY LEVEL = Beginner – Intermediate
      • Beginner -> Students who need to learn at a very basic level and who require a significant amount of assistance
      • Intermediate -> Students who require less assistance and can learn content beyond the basics
      • Advanced -> Students who require little to no assistance and can handle more complex teachings

Kids Summer Camp – Wicked

EVERYONE deserves a chance to fly with our Wicked summer camp! Come and spend a week learning songs and scenes from the Broadway hit, Wicked. Along with learning material from the show, students will be building theatre skills in dance, vocals, and acting.  At the end of the week, we will share a showcase of the scenes and songs with friends and family. It will be a week of confidence building alongside friends where students can truly find their magic through theatre.

Adult Summer Skills Class

Skills Classes give students a taste of every experience offered at Backlight Productions. Classes rotate week to week, previewing: theater, musical theater, music & songwriting, dance, playwriting, improv comedy, glee club, creative expressions, apprenticeships, as well as a few surprise bonus classes! These classes are great for prospective new students and give opportunities for all students to discover what classes they want to enroll in come the start of the new season.

Adult Improv Comedy Club

In this Improv Comedy class, students will engage in exercises and games that sharpen their creative thinking skills, give them confidence in their ideas, and support one another as a team, all while enjoying 2 hours of laughter together! This experience will work towards a Comedy Club performance where students will perform alongside local Improv Comedians in a “Whose Line is it Anyways?”-style production that has quickly become a new student and audience favorite, full of belly laughs for all! *This experience concludes with an OPTIONAL performance opportunity

Adult Creative Expressions

In this new Creative Expressions class, students will be using various art forms to explore different types of emotions. Each week, students will explore two contrasting emotions (always ending with a positive one!) and learn how they can be expressed through music, dance and acting.
