Miss getting dressed up for a fancy night out dancing with friends this year?

Join our Backlight Productions community for a virtual Winter Ball! Gather with your household or community circle, dress up in your formal wear and enjoy an evening of ballroom dancing instruction with professional ballroom dancer and instructors Robert and Brittney Porch. Local photo ops will be available prior to the session along with discounts from participating restaurants so you can grab dinner before dancing. The lesson will take place over Zoom and enable households to see each other on camera or keep their camera off and enjoy in private. This is a season where fun must be creative so take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to bring your family and close friends together for a fun and familiar experience suitable for ALL AGES AND ABILITIES!

Robert & Brittney Porch

Robert Porch has a Master of Fine Arts Degree from the UCLA School of Theater. After appearing in various L.A. musicals & as a guest artist with regional ballet companies, Robert turned his focus to Ballroom and Latin American Dance. He has made the finals in many competitions, including Fred Astaire’s Florida Gulf Coast competition, West Palm Beach Regional, & the Orlando National competition. Throughout his competition career, Robert was a full-time instructor with Fred Astaire Dance Studios in Florida & at the nationally acclaimed New York City Upper West Side studio where he was in constant training with Lyall Bradshaw, one of the creators of the Fred Astaire Ballroom & Latin syllabus. After years of studio life, Robert was fortunate enough to be cast in the international stage show “Simply Ballroom” in England, the U.S. tour with host Debbie Reynolds, & at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas where he proposed onstage to his dance partner, Brittney. 
Most recently, Robert & Brittney have travelled the world dancing on Celebrity’s Millennium cruise ship as the featured ballroom couple & also on Royal Caribbean’s Splendour of the Seas, where they starred in the show, “Ballroom Fever,” choreographed by “Dancing with the Stars’s” Louis Van Amstel. While in Southern California, Robert taught at You Can Dance Studio in Hermosa Beach. Robert is certified in International Latin and Ballroom through DVIDA, and for the last three years, he has judged the AAU West Coast Jr Olympic Ballroom competition, the Journey Dancesport Championships, and Hot Ballroom Dancesport Challenge. He has served as the Coordinator/Director of the OCSA Ballroom Conservatory for the last 8 years.
